Swinging back to winter

Pond Hockey Registrations are pouring in, even though it is pouring out. Ed Kosakowski had begun Messaging us last week and tells us, “Our team skates out of the Twin Oaks Ice Rink in Morristown NJ. Our team name is Les Mauvais Patineurs, it is actually french for The Bad Skaters. We are all in our early 50’s, and decided to go with the 45+ Muskie  Division.” In the course of discussions, we found out Ed has a 2nd house on the Lake, and keeps his boat at Lighthouse Harbor Marina and knows some of the wonderful Staff there.

Our other entry into the Muskie Division are the Towanda Toadstools which is comprised of a  ‘poisonous fungi’ group, that are commonly found playing in backwoods rinks of NEPA. Their Captain, Ken Lee is a long-time organizer of Hockey of any sort, and manages an outdoor rink and also a member of the local Referee’s union. We appreciate all of our Captain’s work in rallying their troops. We will bring more announcements.

We would also like to announce that our Weather and Live Camera are available at our NEWS_WEATHER page. If you look at it before 5:00pm you can see that the rains have done a good job of smoothing out potential for Ice to setup nicely. We expect a 50 degree drop over this weekend to swing us back into Ice Making weather.

The Ice Crew will be taking official measurements this Monday, January 15th and will keep you informed.
