Wally Ice Fest celebrates the best of winter fun in the Pocono Mountains. Tourists and community members alike will enjoy getting out and taking in our two main events: Pocono Pond Hockey Tournament and a Curling demonstration event. The festivities take place on January 26th and 27th, 2019 (backup date February 9th and 10th, 2019). The setting is on top of a frozen Lake Wallenpaupack, near the dike at the northeastern end.

Come play and stay in our winter wonderland and take a Museum tour of Sculpted Ice Works at nearby Crystal Cabin Fever.

We have the best Lodging, Restaurants, and Entertainment where you can relax and reunite with your friends. It’s a fun atmosphere where we can all be kids and try something new and enjoy all things Ice!

Wally Ice Fest 2018 Highlights

Two Events On One Lake

Saturday January 26th, and Sunday January 27th, 2019

Play Some Hockey

There is nothing better than playing hockey outdoors. Something about being in nature, with no boards and lines, makes you feel closer to the true spirit of the game. The sport is famous for being difficult, but when played properly—on a frozen lake during the coldest days of the year—hockey rewards anyone who shows up. And for those that make it through the playoffs, they are rewarded with Trophies. Little is required other than skates, stick, gloves, helmet, and some laughs. We provide the rest!

We plan to have 4 ice rinks placed on frozen Lake Wallenpaupack in front of The Boat House along with 2 ice rinks placed in front of Silver Birches Resort (near the golf). The Wally Lake Fest Pond Hockey Tournament is planned on both Saturday and Sunday!

Try a Round of Golf

The Chamber of the Northern Poconos, with its 26th Annual Ice Tee Golf Tournament is part of a weekend long festival called Wally Ice Fest – January 26th and 27th, 2019.  (Back up dates February 9th and 10th, 2019)

Two 9-hole challenging courses will be created, complete with tree-lined fairways, greens, water traps, obstacles, and roughs.  Golfers will receive a colored golf ball plus a scorecard and map illustrating the course layout, and each participant is restricted to playing with two clubs and one putter.  Tee times will begin at 11 am until 2 pm on Saturday and 9 am until 2 pm on Sunday.  "Green Fees" are a non-refundable donation of $20 per person in advance; $25 on the day of the event.  Don’t want to golf?  Spectators are welcome at all events!

Spectators Welcome

The Anthracite Curling Club will be giving free demonstrations at the north end near the Boat House. You get to see the Pros play a few Ends of a really cool Olympic sport.. Or try your hand at sliding a few stones yourself.

See our spectacular, collections of Tee-box signs provided by Sculpted Ice Works/Crystal Cabin Fever at the Ice Tee Golf Course at Silver Birches Resort, where an Ice Bar can be found on the Deck at The Dock.

The slicing of golf balls and gnashing of skate blades won’t last past Sunday, so get out and see the sights.
